Importing Endpoints Dialog

The Import Endpoints dialog allows you to import an Endpoint Database from either a DPL Workspace (.da) file or from a Comma Separated Value (.csv) file. This dialog also lets you merge multiple Endpoint Databases into one.

Importing from a DPL Workspace File

In the dialog, click the Browse button and locate the .da file from which you want to import endpoints. Note that you need to have a model in your current Workspace whose structure matches the structure of the Endpoint Database you are importing. The model in your current Workspace must be cleared of model memory and must not already contain an Endpoint Database. Click Open to select the .da file for importing. In the File Contents window, DPL will show you the Endpoint Databases available for importing. Select the Endpoint Database you wish to import and click OK. DPL will show an item in the Workspace Manager called {Imported Endpoint Database}.

Importing from a .CSV File

In the dialog, click the Browse button and locate the .csv file from which you want to import endpoints. This file may have been created when you previously exported endpoints from DPL, or via some other method. You may need to select "Comma Separated Value Files (*.CSV)" from the Files of Type drop-down box in order to locate the .csv file to import. Click Open to import the file In the File Contents window, DPL will show you the Endpoint Databases available for importing. Select the Endpoint Database you wish to import and click OK. DPL will show an item in the Workspace Manager called {Imported Endpoint Database}.

Merge with Existing Endpoints

DPL provides the capability for you to merge multiple Endpoint Databases into one. Check this box if you are importing an Endpoint Database that you wish to merge (combine) with previously imported endpoints to create one larger Endpoint Database. Click OK. DPL will merge the second (or later) Endpoint Database into the previously existing database.

Display in Grid

Check this box to tell DPL to create an Endpoint Database grid to display the imported (or merged) endpoints. By default, DPL will not display the grid. Note that large Endpoint Databases may take a few minutes to be displayed in a grid, and may take up a significant amount of memory. If you save a Workspace with a large Endpoint Database grid, this may take up a significant amount of hard disk space.
