Dummy Nodes

Dummy Nodes are sometimes used in Influence Diagrams to represent intermediate variables. Dummy Nodes look like ordinary value nodes, but do not contain data, and are ignored by DPL during an analysis. Including Dummy Nodes in the Influence Diagram can be helpful in indicating calculations more clearly. You can create Dummy Nodes in the Influence Diagram by checking the checkbox labeled Dummy in the General tab of the Node Definition dialog.
