Selecting Text (DPL Editor)

The DPL Editor environment is found in Program and Command windows.

To select text with the keyboard:

  1. Use the ARROW keys to move the insertion point to the beginning of the text you want to select.

  2. While holding down the Shift key, use the ARROW keys or any key combination that scrolls or moves the insertion point. The Shift key indicates that you want to highlight selected text as you move over it.

  3. Release the Shift key when you have highlighted the desired text.

If you want to cancel the selection, just move the insertion point or press the Esc key.

To select text with the mouse:

  1. Move the pointer to the beginning of the text you want to select.

  2. Press the mouse button and drag the pointer to the end of the text that you want to select.

  3. Release the mouse button when you have highlighted the desired text.

If you want to cancel the selection, just click the mouse button.

Note: If the text that you have selected ends at the end of a line, you must end your selection at the beginning of the next line to also include the line return. For instance, to select exactly one line, start the selection at the beginning of the line and end the selection at the beginning of the next line.
