Finding Text (DPL Editor)

To find text:

  1. Place the insertion point where you want the search to begin.

  2. Choose Home | Edit | Find/Replace to open the Find dialog.

  3. In the Find What text box, type the characters or words you want to find. (You can find a horizontal tab by typing \t in the text box.)

  4. If you want to search from the beginning of the file, check the Search from Beginning box.

  5. If you want to match capitalization exactly, check the Match Case box.

  6. Choose the Find Next button to start the search or press Enter.

The DPL editor searches forward and selects the first occurrence of the specified text, if there is one, and highlights the text. If there are no occurrences of the text found in the search, a dialog will display the message Search text not found.

To continue the search after an occurrence is selected, choose the Find Next button again.

At this point, you could also change the specified text and corresponding search conditions to start a new search. When you are finished finding text, close the Find dialog.

TThe shortcut key for Repeat Last Find is the F3 key, which allows you to search quickly through a file by pressing the F3 key repeatedly. When you use the keyboard shortcut the Find dialog will not be displayed, but immediately searches for the text you last typed in the Find What text box (in either the Find or Find and Replace dialog).
