Meet the People of Syncopation Software

Chris Dalton, CEO

Chris Dalton is the Chief Executive Officer and a co-founder of Syncopation Software. He has been a member of the DPL software team since 1994, and has been in charge of product development since 1998. At Syncopation, Chris continues to lead product development strategy and remains in touch with the DPL user base by advising clients in the life sciences, health care, financial, and energy industries on the practical application of DPL and related methodologies. During his tenure as a consultant with a Big 4 firm, Chris used decision analysis and real option valuation approaches to provide R&D planning and capital allocation advice to blue chip companies in a variety of industries. Chris holds a B.S. in Math from Cal Poly and an M.S. in Applied Math from Carnegie Mellon. When not at work, Chris enjoys spending time in the Maine woods, hiking, biking and canoeing. He is an avid canoe racer and enjoys the real life risk management opportunities provided by the ice cold whitewater in New England's rivers.



Tony Manzella, COO

Tony Manzella is the Chief Operating Officer and a co-founder of Syncopation Software. He has been an expert user of DPL since its early development. Prior to 1998, Tony's focus was on consulting in customer choice analytics. He developed numerous models to help clients bring to market, price and design new products and services. He also led the software development team of a proprietary market analysis system used to deliver sophisticated market forecasting models to clients. More recently, Tony has developed a number of DPL-based decision analysis applications for clients in diverse industries such as pharmaceutical, media, technology and sports. In addition to his operational responsibilities, Tony's current client focus is in the use of DPL Portfolio as part of a decision-analytic portfolio analysis system to prioritize R&D projects and allocate capital among them. He holds an M.S. degree in Operations Research from the University of California at Berkeley and is a Fellow of the Society of Decision Professionals. Tony enjoys soccer, running, cooking, fine food and wine in his spare time.



Nicki Franz, Marketing Coordinator

Nicki Franz is the Marketing Coordinator at Syncopation Software. As the "non-geek" of the bunch, she has handled the bulk of the non-technical duties at Syncopation since joining the team in 2010. When you contact Syncopation Software, it's almost always Nicki who will be at-the-ready to field your query. When not actively handling sales and support, her focus turns to coordinating the creation and distribution of a consistent flow of valuable, relevant content for the DPL user base and the decision analysis community at large. With a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Maine at Orono, she prides herself in imparting a liberal arts-y counterbalance to the technical nature of the company. In her free time she enjoys yoga, snowboarding the 'Loaf with her family, rooting for the New York Football Giants, doodling, and coming up with ultimate music playlists.
